Back in September, two of my friends from church were married, and I had the pleasure of making their wedding cake. They were married inside the beautiful Krohn Conservatory, where Cincinnati holds its butterfly show every year. The service was beautiful amongst all the plants and greenery.
This simple yet elegant two-tiered cake featured a moist chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Both layers were covered in white fondant and decorated with aqua royal icing. The top monogram was made from dried white fondant and royal icing.
My immensely creative friend Ashley (owner of Aesthetical Whim shop) and I got to the venue early and had some girl time prior to the ceremony. Then we danced the night away during the reception. Our outfits even matched. We didn’t plan it, we swear.
I love baking. It brings immense peace and joy. I’m so thankful I got to bless this couple on their special day. Congrats to the newlyweds…may you have your cake, and eat it, too.
